Step 1 Your numbers

Your household

For the SCFA estimate only. Leave income blank to compare fees without it.

Picks the SCFA table: the income ceiling rises on 1 January 2027.

Child aged 7 to 14, a Singapore Citizen or PR with a Singapore Citizen family member at home, and each parent in the home working at least 56 hours a month. A single parent counts only their own work and income.

Gross means before CPF. MSF counts the parents’ pay only (yours alone if you are a single parent). If pay goes up and down, use your average over 12 months, with bonuses, commissions and overtime. Optional.

MSF counts the parents, plus any grandparents or siblings below 21 at your address who have no income. With 5 or more, MSF tests income per person instead. MSF does not say whether a baby on the way counts. Ask MSF or your centre.

Your centres

Type what each centre told you. Leave anything you do not know blank: it stays "not known yet", never zero. Find centres in the MSF directory or through your child's primary school.

Nothing you enter leaves this device.

What this result assumes

Fees, hours and MSF registration are what each centre told you; we hold no centre data and never rank centres. SCFA is estimated from MSF's table for Student Care Centres registered with MSF to administer it. Households of 4 or fewer are tested on gross household income (up to S$4,500 now, S$6,500 from 1 January 2027). Households of 5 or more are tested on income per person (S$1,125 now, S$1,625 from 1 January 2027). Under S$295 a month the subsidy is a percentage of the fee; at S$295 or more it is the band's fixed maximum, up to S$290. MSF also gives a one-time Start-Up Grant of up to S$400, not included here. MSF checks each family’s income and decides the final amount; Special Student Care Centres are not covered. Verify with MSF Student Care Fee Assistance. Table checked .

Common questions

What changes for SCFA on 1 January 2027?

MSF raises the income ceiling from S$4,500 to S$6,500 gross household income for families of 4 or fewer, and from S$1,125 to S$1,625 per person for families of 5 or more. The bands widen, so many families get more help or qualify for the first time.

Does every centre give SCFA?

No. SCFA applies at Student Care Centres registered with MSF to administer it. Ask each centre, or check the MSF directory.

Which centre is best?

We do not rank centres. The table keeps them in your order so you can weigh fees, hours, travel and what your child needs yourself.

Why is the first month more than the monthly fee?

Centres often charge a registration fee and a deposit on top of the first month. The first payment row adds them up when you know all three.
