Step 1 Your numbers

Your household

ECDA gives these subsidies to Singapore Citizen children.

Infant care is for 2 to 18 months, childcare for 18 months to 6 years.

Part-time and freelance work count.

Gross means before CPF. Under 5 people, add both parents’ pay only. With 5 or more, add the pay of everyone at your registered address, grandparents included. If pay goes up and down, use your average over 12 months, with bonuses, commissions and overtime.

Count family members at your registered address. A baby on the way is counted once the birth is registered; then ask the centre to reassess. With 5 or more, ECDA can also test income per person. ECDA does not say which test it uses when both could apply, so we use the one that gives more.

Optional. Type the fee with GST, as on your centre's fee list. ECDA's fee caps are quoted before GST. Leave blank to see the subsidy only.

What this result assumes

ECDA full-day subsidies for Singapore citizen children at licensed centres. The headline uses the table in force today; the 2027 tile uses ECDA's new table from 1 January 2027, when the income ceiling rises to S$15,000. Half-day, flexi-care and fee caps are not covered. ECDA's subsidies are for Singapore Citizen children, so a PR or foreign child shows S$0 and the full fee. ECDA's assessment of income and working status prevails. Verify with ECDA or log in to LifeSG’s preschool search for ECDA’s estimate of your fees after subsidy. Figures checked against the ECDA subsidy tables.

Common questions

What changes on 1 January 2027?

ECDA raises the household income ceiling for Additional Subsidy from S$12,000 to S$15,000 (per person S$3,000 to S$3,400) and widens the income bands. The subsidy amounts per band stay the same, so many families move to a higher band.

Do I get the subsidy if I am not working?

Every Singapore citizen child gets a Basic Subsidy of S$150 when the main applicant is not working. Since 9 December 2024, childcare families with household income of S$6,000 and below (or S$1,500 per person) get full subsidies whatever their working status; from 1 January 2027 the limits are S$7,500 and S$1,700.

What is the minimum co-payment?

It is the least you pay each month after subsidies. It rises with income, from S$3 for childcare in the lowest band, so the subsidy can never cover your whole fee.
