How we calculate
Every tool works out your answer with a tested formula and official figures. This page shows where each figure comes from, the period it covers and when we last checked it.
How do the tools work out an answer?
- Each rule, such as a subsidy table or a leave entitlement, is written once as a formula and checked by automated tests before we publish.
- Official figures come from the agency that sets them. Each one carries its source, its data period and the date we last checked it.
- Estimates, such as party or market prices, are labelled as estimates, and you can change them.
- The tools never decide eligibility. They show their assumptions and point you to the official checker.
- What you type stays on your device unless you choose to save it.
Where does each tool get its figures?
45 tools use official figures. Each line below is the same one the tool shows under its result.

These tools use no official figures. They work from what you enter and the notes on each tool page: Birthday party planner, Preschool comparison workbook, Visual routine builder.
How do the comparisons work?
Each comparison reads every provider’s or agency’s own page. Results are listed A to Z, not ranked, and nobody pays to appear or to change the order. Each page ends with its own method and every source we read, with the date we read it.
Which figures are waiting for a recheck?
We could not fully confirm these against an official page on the date we checked. Until we can, treat them as a guide and check with the agency.

- Pregnancy cash planner: MOH MediShield Life premiums. When a newborn's first MediShield Life premium is paid: shown in the birth month as an approximate date. The tool page shows “Recheck pending” next to this source.

- P1 registration per-phase dates: carried from the 2026 exercise, because MOE's pages show them only in an interactive checker. Used by P1 registration phase checker, School finder by distance.
- Conception (266 days) and IVF transfer offsets (day-3 embryo 263 days, day-5 embryo 261 days). Used by Due date and antenatal timeline.
- P1 priority for MOE Kindergarten children (Phase 2A for an MK under the school's purview and located within it). Used by MOE Kindergarten or childcare route chooser.
- PSLE year plan printable: SEAB important dates for candidates.
