How we write and check our guides.

Every guide answers one question a Singapore parent is asking, in plain English, with the official source and the date we checked it. This page is our one editorial policy: how we research, review, date and correct what we publish.

Who writes and reviews the guides?

The RaisingAngels editorial team at Zion Global Marketing Pte Ltd writes and fact-checks every guide, tool and printable. More about who we are.

Guides carry the byline “By the RaisingAngels.sg editorial team”. It means a team member checked the figures, examples and sources before the guide was published or updated. It is an editorial check of figures and sources, not a clinical review, and not medical, legal or financial advice.

How do we check the facts?

We check the rules, amounts and dates in our guides against official Singapore sources such as ECDA, MOE, MOH, MSF, LifeSG, IRAS, MOM, CPF Board and HealthHub. Each guide lists its sources, and every official figure shows its source, data period and the date we last checked it.

Where a figure is an estimate, such as party or market prices, we say so and you can change it. Worked examples use the same tested formulas as the tools, so a guide’s numbers match the answer you get when you try it. How we calculate lists every tool’s sources.

What do the dates on a guide mean?

Each guide shows one line under its title: who wrote it, Facts checked and the read time.

  • Facts checked is the date we last checked its rules and figures against the official sources.

Rewording a page does not recheck its facts, and a recheck may find nothing needs to change. We recheck at the start of each year, after each Budget, each April for P1 registration, and whenever an agency announces a change.

How do we handle health topics?

Guides and tools about growth, milestones, feeding and vaccinations never diagnose or grade a child. They help you note what to ask and point you to the Child Health Booklet and your doctor.

Our health guides have not yet been reviewed by a clinician, and each one says “Not yet reviewed by a clinician” in the line under its title. We are arranging a clinical review. A reviewer’s name and credentials appear on a guide only after they have reviewed it.

Do we rank schools or providers?

No. We never rank preschools, schools, enrichment centres, clinics, banks or insurers. Comparisons show facts from each provider’s own page with the date we read it, listed A to Z. Being a partner can change a label, never the order or the facts. What other parents say is summarised in our own words and includes complaints.

How is the site funded?

The tools, guides and most printables are free. Some links may earn us a commission. A commission never changes our calculations, comparisons or guides, and sponsored placements are labelled “Sponsored”. Today no deal or comparison on the site is paid for.

How do we handle corrections?

If you spot an outdated rule, a wrong figure or an unclear example, suggest a correction on our contact form with the page and the issue. Please leave out your child’s details and other sensitive information.

We check your report against the official source and update the page, its Updated date and, where the facts changed, its Facts checked date.

Is there a separate editorial policy?

No, this is the one policy. The dated Editorial Policy linked from our Terms of Use and Privacy Notice is its Version 1 summary, kept unchanged as the record of what you agreed to.
