Quick answer
Your due date is 280 days after the first day of your last period. Add a day for each day your cycle runs past 28 days. Your doctor may adjust it after the dating scan. That one date sets the typical check-ups, the earliest maternity leave start and which baby scheme applies.
The useful number: A baby due near 1 April 2027 could fall under either scheme. Born before that day: the Baby Bonus. Born on or after it: the SG Child Support Package.

Who is this for?
Parents-to-be in Singapore, from a positive test to the last weeks. The timings are the typical ones from HealthHub, KKH and NUH. Your doctor or midwife sets your actual schedule, so bring the dates to your next visit.
How do you work out your due date?
- Note the first day of your last period and your usual cycle. The tool takes cycles of 21 to 45 days.
- Add 280 days, plus one day for each day your cycle is longer than 28 days (or minus one for each day shorter).
- Know the conception or IVF transfer date? The tool counts 266 days from conception, 263 from a day-3 transfer and 261 from a day-5 transfer.
- After the dating scan, usually in weeks 8 to 12, use your doctor’s due date. The tool also works from a scan date.
- Note each screen’s window. Tell your employer about maternity leave at least 4 weeks before it starts.
- After the birth, register it on LifeSG within 42 days. Apply for the Baby Bonus or the SG Child Support Package in the same flow.
Which check-ups and screens happen when?
Weeks count from the first day of your last period, so your due date is week 40.
- First antenatal visit and dating scan
- Weeks 8 to 12
- Routine first blood tests
- Weeks 6 to 12
- First trimester screening (optional)
- Weeks 11 to 14
- Detailed (anomaly) scan
- Weeks 18 to 22
- Gestational diabetes screen (OGTT)
- Weeks 24 to 28

- Weeks 28 to 34
- Growth scan
- Weeks 28 to 32
- Group B Strep swab
- Weeks 35 to 37

At polyclinics, check-ups are every four weeks until week 28, then every two weeks. From about week 34 you move to the hospital, earlier for some mothers. Screens such as the first trimester screen are optional: ask your doctor.

When can leave start, and which support applies?
Maternity leave is 16 weeks. By default it starts 4 weeks before the birth; by agreement, any day in those 4 weeks. Give 4 weeks’ notice. The first 8 weeks are one block; the last 8 can be taken flexibly within 12 months.
Paternity leave is 4 weeks, by default as one block within 16 weeks of the birth, or by agreement within 12 months. Shared Parental Leave is 10 weeks from 1 April 2026, 5 each by default. Split it with the Parental leave planner.
The SG Child Support Package includes a S$10,000 Baby Gift and a S$5,000 First Step Grant. How much will the Baby Bonus and CDA give my baby? has the full amounts.
Which tool and download help?
The Due date and antenatal timeline keeps your due date on this phone. The Confinement countdown checklist and Baby Bonus + CDA maximiser can fill it in. Print the Hospital bag and admission list for the last weeks and the First 42 days newborn calendar for after the birth.
What does this timeline not tell you?
It is a planning aid. Your doctor may suggest other tests or timings, such as earlier diabetes screening at higher risk. Pregnancy normally lasts 37 to 42 weeks, so the due date is the middle of a window.
The conception and IVF figures are the clinical convention; we found no official page stating them on 10 October 2026. Confirm with your fertility clinic. Keep your baby’s Child Health Booklet for every check-up. If anything feels wrong, discuss it with your doctor straight away.

Can the dating scan change my due date?
Yes. The dating scan, usually in weeks 8 to 12, estimates the date from the baby’s size. Your doctor may move your date to match it.
When is the detailed anomaly scan?
Usually weeks 18 to 22, so it is often called the 20-week scan. It checks the baby’s development and the placenta; KKH lists weeks 18 to 21.
When is the gestational diabetes test?
The glucose tolerance test (OGTT) is usually in weeks 24 to 28, with an anaemia check. Mothers at higher risk are often screened earlier too.
My due date is near 1 April 2027. Which scheme applies?
The actual birth date decides. Babies born up to 31 March 2027 get the Baby Bonus Scheme; from 1 April 2027, the SG Child Support Package.
