S$62,000 in Child Credits still to come. Example: three children born 2016, 2019 and 2023.

Quick answer

Each Singapore citizen child can get up to S$1,000 in one-off Child LifeSG Credits: S$500 from Budget 2025 and S$500 from Budget 2026. Third and later children also got S$1,000 a year in Large Family LifeSG Credits at ages 1 to 6, in 2025 and 2026 only. From April 2027, the SG Child Support Package pays S$2,000 a year in Child Credits for ages 1 to 16, in cash rather than LifeSG credits.

The useful number: In our example, three children born 2016, 2019 and 2023 have received S$5,000 in LifeSG credits, with S$62,000 in Child Credits still to come.

Who is this for?

Singapore citizen families with children born from 2013. Children who are not Singapore citizens do not get these credits.

What are the steps?

  1. Enter each child’s birth year, oldest first. Birth order decides the Large Family credits.
  2. Read what has landed and what is still to come for each credit.
  3. Check the LifeSG app. Its records are the official ones, and LifeSG credits are valid for 12 months, so spend them before they lapse.
  4. Note the Child Credits separately: they go in cash to the bank account linked to your child’s PayNow ID.

Which credits can each child get?

Child LifeSG credit, Budget 2025
S$500, children born 2013 to 2025
Child LifeSG credit, Budget 2026
S$500, children born 2014 to 2026
Large Family LifeSG Credits
S$1,000 a year, third and later children aged 1 to 6, 2025 and 2026
SG Child Support Package Child Credits
S$2,000 a year in cash, ages 1 to 16

The Budget 2025 credit went to children born 2013 to 2024 in 2025, and to children born in 2025 the following year. The Budget 2026 credit went to children born 2014 to 2025 in July 2026; children born in 2026 get it in April 2027.

What does a family of three receive?

Take three Singapore citizen children born in 2016, 2019 and 2023, counted in 2026:

Child LifeSG Credits, each child (S$500 from each Budget)
S$1,000
Large Family credits for the third child (2025 and 2026)
S$2,000
LifeSG credits received
S$5,000
Child Credits still to come, eldest
S$14,000
Child Credits still to come, middle child
S$20,000
Child Credits still to come, youngest
S$28,000
Child Credits still to come, all three
S$62,000

Each child gets S$2,000 for every year they turn 1 to 16 from 2026, so younger children receive more years of Child Credits.

What changes in 2027?

The SG Child Support Package replaces the Baby Bonus and Large Families Schemes. Large Family LifeSG Credits stop, with no payments in 2027, so the April 2026 payment is the last one.

Child Credits start instead. The first payout, in April 2027, covers the 2026 entitlement. Later payouts arrive on the child’s birthday.

What should you do with the total?

Child Credits are cash, so decide early whether they go to everyday costs or to savings. To see how savings and your child’s CDA could grow towards university, read the Education savings guide. For the newborn steps that open the CDA, print Birth registration, Baby Bonus and CDA steps.

Frequently asked questions

Why are Child Credits shown apart from LifeSG Credits?

Child Credits are paid in cash to the bank account linked to your child’s PayNow ID, not as LifeSG credits. The tracker shows them separately so the LifeSG total matches what you see in the app.

Do LifeSG Credits expire?

Yes. LifeSG credits are valid for 12 months, so check the LifeSG app for each credit’s expiry date and plan to use them in time.

Will large family credits continue in 2027?

No. The SG Child Support Package replaces the Large Families Scheme, and Large Family LifeSG Credits stop with no payments in 2027. The S$2,000 a year Child Credits start instead, from April 2027.

How much can one child get in Child LifeSG Credits?

Up to S$1,000: S$500 from Budget 2025 for children born 2013 to 2025, and S$500 from Budget 2026 for children born 2014 to 2026. Try the LifeSG Credits tracker →
