What this estimate assumes
Shortlisting estimate only. We look up your postal code on OneMap, the government map service. We measure straight-line distance to each school that takes P1 in the exercise you pick, from MOE's list on data.gov.sg. We follow MOE SchoolFinder's notes. A school not taking P1 that year is left out, and a school moving to a new address is measured from the address MOE uses. We checked the list, and whether each school takes boys, girls or both, against MOE SchoolFinder on 12 October 2026. MOE's official distance category is the one OneMap SchoolQuery gives for your registration address. Our line runs between postal-code points, so a school near the 1km or 2km line can fall in a different band. If OneMap does not answer, we use a school with your postal code or, failing that, the middle of the schools in your postal sector, which can be off by a kilometre or more. Check MOE SchoolFinder before you register.

Why might MOE give a different band?
MOE measures from your registration address using SLA's method. We measure in a straight line between postal-code points, so a school near 1km or 2km can land on the other side of the line.
What if the lookup fails?
If OneMap does not answer or asks for a sign-in token, we use a school with the same postal code, or the middle of the schools in your postal sector, and say so. That rough version can be off by a kilometre or more.
